BROADCAST OF 3D TV

Tron 2 is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

Alice in Wonderland is an upcoming fantasy-adventure film directed by Tim Burton. It is an extension to the Lewis Carroll novels Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. The film will use a technique combining live action and animation. Mia Wasikowska plays the role of Alice, alongside Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as The White Queen, and Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts.

A sequel to Lewis Carroll’s original stories, the movie has Alice Kingsley, now 19, attending a party at a Victorian estate, only to find she is about to be proposed to by a rich suitor in front of hundreds of snooty society types. She runs off, following a white rabbit into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited many years before, though she doesn’t remember it. The White Rabbit claims to have come back for Alice because she is the only one who can slay the Jabberwock, the beast who guards the Red Queen’s empire. Alice remains completely unaware of why she is in Wonderland, and is confused about the fact that she had once visited Wonderland years before. She then embarks — assuming both large and small sizes — on an adventure of self discovery and to save Wonderland from the Red Queen’s reign of terror with the help of her Wonderland friends.

A media release on the ACMA Web site states the regulator's position on 3D TV broadcasts — that the transmissions are still in their infancy, and any further trials until the end of 2011 must be short-term and involve significant viewer awareness programs.

A statement from ACMA chairperson Chris Chapman mentions the necessity of educating the public while allowing trials to take place. "Providing appropriate safeguards are in place to protect consumers' interests, the ACMA will continue to facilitate industry’s deployment of 3D TV and other evolving technologies in the period to the end of 2011.

"The ACMA also decided that any further trials must be of a short duration, and broadcasters will be required to give the ACMA undertakings on measures that will assist consumers to understand that trial broadcasts are temporary and will only be available in a limited number of locations."

The free broadcast spectrum space used to transmit the 3D TV trial channel, which was employed in 2010 for the State of Origin, the 2010 FIFA World Cup and both the AFL and NRL grand final matches and the AFL grand final rematch, only exists as a result of delays in the Australian switchover to digital TV. During the transition to digital TV a 'restacking' process will see spectrum allocations shuffled in order to free up space for wireless services, which will include the channel currently used to broadcast 3D TV trials. Later in 2011, the ACMA will review its approach to allocating the currently-empty spectrum space.

New procedures and guidelines for the transmission of 3D TV have been laid out on the ACMA Web site. A major consumer concern cited was the previous trials' lack of geographical coverage, despite the 3D TV trial channel spectrum being available throughout most of Australia. Retailers were also contacted by the ACCC for misrepresenting the availability and coverage of 3D test transmissions.

Until the ACMA reconsiders the 3D TV trial spectrum allocation later in 2011, it will continue to consider applications from broadcasters to show events in 3D. The new guidelines state trial broadcasts should generally be no longer than a month in length, with a clear break between separate trials. Broadcasters will also likely be required to run on-air advisories to educate consumers, and any partnered retailers must release information on the limited scope and length of the trials.

Sky have a recently announced their move towards 3D broadcasts, revealing that they’ve already begun filming some sporting events using dual camera rigs to capture images for the left and right eye. These two images are then kept synchronized throughout the editing process and finally broadcast side by side via a standard Sky Hi Definition set-top box. A 3D ready television is required to combine these images on the screen, creating the 3D effect.

The current technology still requires polarizing glasses to get the full effect, however Sky and some 3D television manufacturers (Samsung, Phillips) have revealed plans and television models that would display a three-dimensional picture without the use of special specs.

It is the third installment in the Toy Story series and is scheduled for release on June 18, 2010, in the United States.[1] Lee Unkrich, who edited the previous films and co-directed the second, takes over as director. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen have been confirmed to return to voice the characters of Woody and Buzz respectively.

Andy is departing for college, and his toys, including Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen), are going to be put in the attic. Before they can be put in the attic, they are accidentally thrown away and are picked up by the garbage men. The toys find themselves at a local day-care center, where they must try to survive the playful but careless pre-school children. Woody attempts to save his friends and find themselves a new home, but matters are further complicated when Buzz is damaged during an escape attempt. The toys try to reset Buzz, but end up causing him to revert to a Spanish version of his delusions of being a space ranger, much to the other toys’ discomfort.
