MERITS AND DEMERITS OF WINDOW 8 OS

Now that technology is highly developed and widely available you will hardly ever find a house without a computer if not a PC look for a laptop or netbook. Quite often you can even discover the there are all three devices in one house. They are used for different purposes such as study, work or even entertainment, but for all of these it’s likely you will need the Internet. You need to be sure your Internet browser will let you take advantage of Internet services and activities.

It’s difficult to decide which one is the best because they all have some advantages and disadvantages attached to them, this will have a level of importance for you and the purpose for which you are going to use the Internet.

Let’s look closer at each of them and check the advantages and the disadvantages which separates each of these competitors (so we will skip the basic features that are offered by any browser).

Shall we start with the most familiar for people? Internet Explorer of course.

One of the main advantages is the fact that Internet Explorer is back to the full version which presents you with more features than Opera and Firefox. With Internet Explorer you will be able to refresh all tabs at once and also automatically resize a page to the format suitable for printing.

The disadvantages are the low speed and the restricted usage facility, it’s suitable only for some versions of Windows. It seems to be a problem to un-install Internet Explorer if that is something you will ever want. The other thing is IE doesn’t’ meet web standards. Internet Explorer is renowned for the css hacks and workarounds that experts and program designers have to do for their code to be useful within this browser.

As for Mozilla Firefox this web browser unlike the previous one follows web standards very well. You will also find that you won’t be complaining about its speed, this browser works quickly enough for everybody. The strength of this browser is that its collection of plug-ins is probably the biggest of the three which will let you take full advantage of your Internet surfing activities. More than 2000 different extensions are a good addition too. Firefox is getting better and better every day because it has a good team of developers who care about its features.

As always there is no good without bad. Lots of plug-ins and open source cause a security risk. Firefox programmers seem to have entered a “competition”, to create newer versions of this software in very short time periods and with this comes new bugs as would be expected.

Maybe you didn’t know but, it was Opera who originally started featuring Browser Tabs and Speed Dial and Opera’s main advantage is its speed. This is the quickest browser in the browser’s world. If your work is about spending time surfing on the Internet and making searches in the likes of Google and Bing, this might be for you, a great option because it will save you plenty of time overall. This browser has a good database of plug-ins as well but at the same time it requires less memory space compared to the other ones. It’s a closed source so it’s more secure than Firefox.

Here we go again, never any good without bad. The fact that it’s a closed source is an advantage and paradoxically a disadvantage as well. And there are still some bugs left especially if it goes to flash on Linux.

So there you go, now you know the biggest pros and cons of each of the main three web browsers you can decide which of the features matters to you more and outweighs the disadvantages.
